Haruo Obata, 78, gained nationwide fame in summer 2018 when he found a missing 2-year-old boy during a search operation in southwestern Japan. It was the latest effort by this "super volunteer" to come to the aid of people in need. For nearly 30 years, Haruo has helped survivors in disaster-hit areas, including the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and the 2016 quakes in Kumamoto Prefecture. This program follows him as he camps out in a schoolyard in western Japan, while working to clean up homes badly damaged by heavy rains.
